Deliveryhut
I built DeliveryHut using the MERN Stack, which includes React for the front end and Node.js with Express.js for the backend. MongoDB was used as the database. To enhance the visual design and user experience, I utilized Material UI as a CSS framework and implemented custom CSS when necessary.
What was broken, and why it mattered.
The food delivery platform needed a full-stack application connecting customers with local restaurants for on-demand food ordering and delivery. The platform required real-time order status tracking, a reliable cart and checkout flow, restaurant menu management for operators, and a delivery status system that kept customers informed throughout the order lifecycle.
How I fixed it.
Built the complete food delivery platform with a restaurant and menu discovery interface, a cart and checkout flow with multiple payment options, a real-time order status tracking system with delivery progress updates, a restaurant operator portal for menu management and order handling, and a ratings system for completed orders.
Implemented Firebase for real-time data synchronization across customer and operator interfaces, ensuring order updates appeared instantly on both sides without requiring page refreshes.

What I'd do differently.
Real-time order tracking is the feature that defines customer experience in food delivery. A great ordering flow means nothing if the customer cannot see what is happening after they pay. The post-purchase experience is the primary trust-building moment in delivery products, and it deserved proportionally more engineering investment.
